How much does it cost?
Fares are calculated per bag and per step.

 Maximum 15 kg per bag.
Bicycles:
10 euros per bike + 8 euros the whole range of bags on the bike.
Payment:
French cheques or cash. Be careful, we don't accept credit cards.
You can come to our information point N°31 rue de la citadelle to pay your transport. Or, you can let 8€ in an envelop on your backpacks for the transportation.
We won't ask you an advance fee for bag transportation. But, we will thank you for informing us concerning any change or cancellation as soon as possible.
Booking:
You have to tell us the place where we have to take your backpacks and where we have to let them. In the worst cases, you have to notice us the day before:

- you can complete the table with the bag transportation stages
 luggage_transportation_table.doc and send it back to us. This table to fill in is situated in the table transport of luggage.

Where from, where about?
From Saint Jean Pied de Port (or Saint Jean le Vieux) until Roncesvalles, or even Burguete, Espinal or Viscarret for long steps.
The way from St Jean Pied de Port to Roncesvalles is the most difficult in The French Camino (27 km, 8 hours walking, 1200m denivelation). Every year, a lot of pilgrims leave us their backpacks to cross more easily the Lepoeder Pass.
Responsability
We re in charge of your luggage during the transportation. We have an insurance for that.
You are in charge of your bag before it being taken and after it being left.
Our responsibility cannot be engaged for any problem that would have happened in the accomodation place.
We strongly advise you not to leave any valuable item in your bags or any important document such as plane tickets, medecine, passports, money, etc... |
The way we work
We start our tour at about 8 am in St Jean Pied de Port, your bags have to be packed and ready to leave for 7:45 am.
We identify your luggage when we pick them up.
We leave your backpacks in the accommodation of your next stop. All the accommodations between St Jean pied de Port and Viscarret accept the transports of backpacks except the Collégiale in Roncesvalles (refuge in the monastery). We can deposit your backpacks in the hotel “La Posada de Roncesvalles”. The pilgrims who want to sleep in La Collégiale could take their backpacks back in that hotel.

The lending of a small backpack for the hike:
We can lend you a small backpack for the day to replace the other big one. It easily can contain a numb, a picnic, a windbreaker, a camera, papers, plasters, etc... They are stored in our office (at number 31, rue de la Citadelle in St Jean Pied de Port). You will be able to take them during the opening hours of the office.
